The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has recently come forward to cancel issuing visas to the Pakistani nation. This has been affirmed by Pakistan’s ambassador to the UAE especially Faisal Niaz Tirmizi. Several Pakistanis residents from celebrities to business persons have ranted about visa issues.
What the Ambassador Said
The Pakistani Embassy in the UAE posted a video on the social media network where the ambassador stated the challenges people of Pakistan are experiencing with visas. He said that Pakistanis require return tickets, hotel booking, and at least 3000 dirhams to get a visa. He also insisted on the authorities to confront those who seem to lack genuine business or tourism activities.
Reasons Behind the Ban
Leading UAE authorities have expressed worry over conduct of Pakistani nationals breaching visa standard. Some were even reported to have purchased fake documents, engaged in unlawful acts and even what they post on social media. Decisions about these matters were made during meetings between UAE representatives and Pakistan’s ambassador, prohibiting stricter actions.
Violations of UAE Laws
From the news, it was established that some of the Pakistani citizens indulge themselves in conducts prohibited under UAE laws which include participation in political demonstrations and posting comments and articles considered rebellious by the UAE authorities. There were also other related incidences such as fake degree and forged identity cards.
Criminal Activities
UAE officials noted that some of the Pakistani citizens were involved in criminal activities, which include theft, fraud, begging and drug peddling. These activities posed a very big threat to the security of the country and its stability.
This is line with UAE stance on such violations as that led to the decision to deny visas to the country. The visa ban emphasizes the need to adhere to local conditions in foreign countries and keeping adequate documentation.
