ABOUT US

The Velu Thampi Memorial(V.T.M) College of Arts & Science was established in 2004 as a self supporting Linguistic Minority Institution.The College is owned and managed by VTM Educational Trust, a Unit of the Kanyakumari District Nair Service Society,registered on 15th December, 1997. (Reg.No : 745/97).

The College is located on a sprawling 10.01 acre campus in Arumanai Town Panchayat, Vilavancode Taluk,Kanyakumari District.The College is named after the great patriot and freedom fighter, Velu Thampi Dalava of the erstwhile Princely state of Travancore. The foundation stone for the college building was laid by His Highness Uthradam Thirunal Marthandavarma on 17-03-2002. The College building was formally inaugurated by Sri. N.Dhalavai Sundaram, Honourable Minister for Public Health, Govt. of Tamilnadu on 06-02-2005.

This Institution envisions a vast beckoning field in this sylvan area where the young boys and girls of the rural society,more specifically of Malayalam - speaking families, can have their training to ascend the summit of knowledge and erudition.

Admission Procedure

1. Students are admitted at beginning of first semester.
2. Application form available from college office (Rs.150).
3. Original Mark Sheets, TC & Conduct Certificate required.
4. Migration & Eligibility Certificate required if from other Board/University.
5. Selected candidates must remit first semester tuition fees.
6. Community Certificate required (SC/ST/BC/MBC/DNC).
7. All dues must be cleared for TC return.

Rules & Regulations

1. Students must be courteous.
2. ID card compulsory.
3. Regular attendance mandatory.
4. Smoking & Ragging prohibited.
5. Mobile phones prohibited.
6. Principal has authority to impose punishments.

Library

Library open 9.30 a.m to 4.00 p.m on working days.

1. Two books for 14 days.
2. Fine for late return.
3. Damaging books punishable.
4. Silence strictly maintained.
