As people get ready for Diwali, the central government has declared a welcome bonus for employees. On October 10, 2024, the Ministry of Finance passed an order there under which one-hundred rupees ad-hoc bonus equal to one month’s salary for the financial year 2023-24, was allowed to central Government employees.
What Is the Diwali Bonus?
This particular ad-hoc bonus is provided as per the special announcement from the Department of Expenditure was announced for the employees who do not come under any productivity-based bonus plan. This is good news to all the employees that are in Group C and Group B especially the non-gazetted ones.
Bonus Details
The bonus will be calculated using the maximum permitted salary per month that is ₹7,000. The targets must be an employee of the relevant authority on or before March thirty-first, twenty-four, and also have had not less than six months of service within the current year. That means if any employee has served for less than one year, he or she will receive a proportional bonus depending on the number of months of service.
How Is the Bonus Calculated?
In order to transform the bonus, it will be divided with 30.4 average monthly salary of the employee and then, to find the total bonus amount, it will be multiplied with 30. For example, if an employee makes ₹ 20,000 per month, he or she will receive about ₹ 19,737 as a bonus money.
Who Else Benefits?
Apart from central government servants it will also be applicable for employees of central government pay structure in Union Territories and paramilitary and armed forces personnel. Daily wage workers who maintain service of three years or more with 240 days service in each year will also be provided ₹1,200/- per month bonus.
