Introduction to DA Hike
To strengthen the situation in the organized sector, for the welfare of labors the central government is still trying to improve the economic structures for labors. The hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) is expected to be revised shortly with an intention of raising the minimum wage rate.
Purpose of the DA Hike
The main goal of the government is to assist the employees to manage the cost of living. The rationale of this intervention is to prevent the subjects from experiencing financial issues it is expected to offer the basic necessities of life. The revised DA would however have an important of improving their livelihood.
Who Will Benefit?
Many types of workers in central sector will rejoice from this decision. This will include manual employees like, the porters who load or off load goods, the construction workers, security in real estates, miners, cleaners, and farmers among others. These changes will give quite a good alivion to all categories of workers.
Future Alterations of Wages
The new wage rates are yet to be implemented as they will be from October the 1st of the year 2024. In the past, the last adjustment of the minimum wage was in April 2024 whereby extra rates of minimum wages were posted according to the level of skill.
The above-recommended minimum wages will be a adopted in three different categories namely skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled in relation to the geographical region.
Structure of New Wages
According to the proposed new wage system, the substantial minimum wage for the skilled workers in constructions, loadings, cleaning, etc. will be ₹783 per day and in monthly ₹23,658 approximately. Likewise, for semi skilled workers minimum wages have been fixed only ₹868 per day which comes to ₹25698 per month.
