New rule for government employees has been set today. This is an important reminder for all government employees regarding the retirement procedure. Now there is a new regulation that has made it compulsory for the employees to produce a certificate which should be submitted before the employee is even five years to retirement age. This is for all the government employees who have served for 18 years and above. It is now important for them to go for it to follow this process and make their retirement smooth.
Verification Process
As per the new regulation of Ministry of Personnel and Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare extension, every employee who has reached 18 years of service should go through formal check voting period. However, this verification is mandatory especially for those who are within a five-year window to retiring . It is so as to guarantee that any document besides the necessary records to retire as is required is well organized in advance.
Why Is Verification Necessary?
This verification will ensure the checking of all the records of the particular employee of his company and establishment. It is a step to ensure that all the necessary preparations for the time when one is through with working is well prepared. The verification will also help in ascertaining that the employees were have met all the service requirements and are well equipped with their documents.
How Will the Process Work?
This approach will be in charge of the department head and accounts office, who will check the service books of the employee. Later on, after the verification is done, teams will issue an employee a certificate indicating that the verification has been done. This certificate will act as an indication of their periodic authenticity.
When Does the Process Start?
The first round of the scheduled periodical verification shall commence for the government employee from January 31, 2025. In accordance with the CCS (Pension) Rules 2021, this verification was mandatory for employees for the first time. Finally, each employee will have to file the “qualifying service status” every year for updating their files.
Department Guidelines
The Ministry of Personnel has also given out information about this new requirement to other government departments. He urged departments to make sure that employees have forwarded all their qualification service certificates before the retirement age is achieved.
One set of procedures that are now compulsory for all government employees before they retire are these. This new rule shall thus benefit all the companies and empower all the employees to prepare adequately for their retirement.
