About the daughters’ education and their very bright future in India, the All India Council for Technical Education AICTE and Ministry of Education MoE launched Pragati Scholarship Scheme. As per this program, the girls who are studying technical courses are financially assisted one time per year by giving them ₹50000 towards their educational requirements so that, they should become independent.
Advantages of Pragati Scholarship
In Pragati Scholarship, up to two daughters in a family can avail the scholarship. For a girl who joins the first year in a technical course, she will qualify to benefit from this scholarship for up to three years. In cases where a student joins the university directly into the second year through what we call lateral entry, then he or she can benefit from the scholarship for a maximum of two years.
Who Can Apply?
This scholarship is exclusive to females. Any first year or second year girl or a girl who has laterally entered a diploma course. Family income should not be more than eight lakhs per annum.
Courses Covered
This scholarship is for girls who are in technical courses such as ITI or those who have done polytechnic diploma courses. Their college must be approved by All India Council for Technical Education more commonly known as AICTE.
How to Register Online
To apply, students have to go to National Scholarship Portal. First, they have to become the users of the given portal and submit data such as e-KYC in order to get registered. They can then fill an application form for the scholarship after login. The scholarship then will be given to the college and the candidate by confirming the college from AICTE as well as their eligibility.
