In a special pre Diwali bonanza, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai made a 4 % hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for the state employees and enhanced it from 46 % to 50%. This was made just a day to the cabinet meeting and has been considered a way of giving the government workers in the state a Diwali gift.
